When you leave a comment under someone's answer, do they get a notification?

You know that new feature where you can directly reply to anyone's answer? The comment button that is next to the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons? Well when you add your comment to another users answer are they notified of it?

No, no one is notified about the comments.

But I agree with JanetM, that since we've been given this new feature and are getting used to it, we're more inclined to check back to see if there are comments to our answers.

I think that's likely 'part of the plan' ... more clicks = more ad $$$ for Yahoo!, so anything which encourages us to return to our own postings is a good thing as far as Yahoo! is concerned!

It will show on your Answers home page when you open everything. it will show your activity and rates are activity,

WHEN YOU LEAVE A COMMENT TO ANS ANSWER IF THE COMMENT IS NOT OPENED UP THEN THAT ANSWER DOES NOT KNOW YOU LEFE YOUR COMMENT FOR THEM.

Source(s): I rates a month old question i answered and when i opened everything in my answers home it showed my answers were given ratings

No, they do not. But I think more and more people now think about coming back to look. Not everyone will, but as they start to see other comments, people will start to check back.
