What age do rabbits need to be to breed?
I just got into rabbits. I was wondering how old does a (standard Rex, English spotted, Flemish giant, and chinchilla mix) large breed rabbit need to be to breed.
I am breeding them mainly for meat. If I get any blues, silvers, or reds and broken reds I will probably try to sell those (whether as pets or breeding stock) to help with what little feed bill I have/will have.

Bucks can breed whenever they're ready, sometimes as early as 3 months, but yeah the does of large breeds need more time than small. Small breed does can be safely bred at 6 months. Large breed does like the Rex it's safer to wait until 8 months. Giant breeds like Flemish Giant will need more like 10-12 months.

8 months is the best age to start breeding a rabbit, it better if the buck is older. But they can be the same age.
