Who does Carl Edwards drive for in 2015?
Rumor mill has Edwards leaving Roush. That only leaves a few places for Edwards to go. Penske has to be a good option, starting a full time 3rd team. JGR could start a 4th team. Maybe Kahne out at Hendrick, Edwards in? Weirder things have happened. What's your take?

I don't think Penske is going to end up being an option, but I wouldn't be shocked at all to see JGR make room for him. I don't care if JGR has had recent problems; that equipment is much more competitive than Roush stuff has been for a long time. Just go ask Matt Kenseth how that move went. As a whole, that team has been amazingly successful the last several years.
Carl is one of my favorite drivers, RFR is my favorite team, and Ford is my brand of choice, but the guy needs to get away from RFR, regardless of the team.

NO NOT JGR! Ugh. I recall JGR being an option when he was negotiating last contract...and Joe backed out...Carl wanted more $$ than what he was worth. I hope its the same and Joe backs out again. I don't want Carl teammates with Kyle, Matt and Denny. I would LOVE to see and up and coming Sprint driver in that ride...Kyle Larson, Trevor Bayne...someone Joe could help out like he did Joey Logano.

I think it depends on how this year goes. Edwards will stay with Roush if he has a championship or at least comes close or maybe if he can't find greener pastures amongst the other options. If he was to head elsewhere, I'd say it was due to greener pastures there and maybe so a friend of his could take the 99's seat, if that's possible. He once said he has a friend that's a Roush Nationwide driver and I admit that driver may or may not be around next year. I hope he ( Carl Edwards' friend) can still race many more years, but there's no guarantee either way. Not a fan of Edwards, but his friend's my Nationwide driver.
Source(s): an article I once read mentioned Edwards' comments about how he felt about an achievement his teammate and friend accomplished and I learned about what happened last year in Edwards' friends' life through msn.foxsports.com jayski.com quoted Edwards' answer to "Can you win a championship at Roush?" and a phrase in his answer implied whether or not he wins or at least comes close to a championship will determine whether or not he stays. - Elliott NLv 67 years ago
I think he will be with Joe Gibbs Racing with a 4th team. Edwards already has turned down driving for Richard Childress fourth team. Roush has signed Trevor Bayne to drive along with Stenhouse and Biffle. Penske is not planning a full time 3rd team. That only leaves JGR with a 4th team. Ford obviously did want to pony up the same amount they did in 2011 to keep him in a Ford for 3 more years.

I've always liked Carl. He's a hell of a guy.
He'd do good at JGR. Be a good addition.
I don't think Hendrick would let Kahne go.

Not sure where Carl will be driving next year, but guaranteed it will be in a Ford. Carl is a Ford fanatic dating back to his Missouri days. Also, Ford will do whatever is necessary to keep their only true "star" in the ford racing family.
I say 60% chance he goes to Penske - 40% he stays with Roush.

Carl will still be doing backflips at Rousch racing next year. That's what my crystal ball says.

I see him ending up at JGR. If I remember correctly that was possibly where he was going to end up in his last contract year. Penske, possible, but not probable with the issues between Brad & himself, but not to say it will not happen at all (i.e. Kurt Busch/Tony Stewart @ SHR)

IMO if he went to Penske it would be a shocker. He and bad Brad aren't that best of friends and who ever drives the 2 car there is the main man. He wants to be the main man. If the points wouldn't have changed from the true points champ race he'd have 2. I'm a big 99 fan and honestly hope he stays there or goes to MWR or hopefully RYR comes back. I'm not a big fan of many teams out there but whatever he chooses I'll still be a fan of his.

Penske's not interested, and he'd be stupid to go elsewhere. JGR has enough problems getting all 3 going at the same time, plus Edwards doesn't get on with Kenseth much anyway (half the reason he left Roush), HMS is full, and every other team is worse.
