The environmental damage, not to mention the huge pollution the smoke causes is NEVER mentioned, people are NOT warned to take precautions by wearing mouth caps etc..................
What about the debris falling down like asbestos or other chemicals?
Is it ignorance or just keeping quiet?

I agree , but the risk of being harmed by chemicals from such fires pales in comparison to smog, car exhaust, and cement debris around Dubai and Sharjah that we breath every day. When these fires only burn for a day or 2. Those chemicals burn out and dissipate after a while , but that other stuff I mentioned is there for us to keep getting sick every day. :)
The funny thing is Sharjah with all the fire incidents in the industrial area still hasn't gotten its act together , and as usual they ask Dubai and Ajman to come help them put out the fire . Even little UMQ sent their guys to help them , and those guys need help themselves LOL.
I find this hilarious that Sharjah cannot find enough money or trained firemen to do the job right , still after having the most fire prone industrial area in all UAE.
If the owner of that car parts warehouse just simply had smoke detectors and auto fire sprinklers we wont be talking about it right now. I would think these things should be mandatory by fire code. I don't know how these guys can get licensed without that.

No "they" didn't have Kuwait oil fires or any thing near in Sharjah ...
we are talking about a warehouse that burned , those in your video are from 1990 Iraq invasion of Kuwait, not the same thing and far away , and long time ago :)

You do hear about it AFTER.
It takes time to analysis the fire smoke and stuff to find out what is in it.
Sorry most people DO NOT carry protective things with them all the time. Unless you are fighting the fire or cleaning up the mess. Suggest you just stay FAR AWAY.
A little common sense should tell anyone a chemical fire has Dangerous things in it. Do you have to know exactly what is there before you decide to run.
Do you have to be told to wear a mask?
They have had much bigger blazes in the past.
