the powertransformer on my PC is failing?

when inserted in the plug hole it will not connect & charge the battery, I have tried a new transformer but it made no difference, is there another way to charge the battery ?

    If 2 different AC adapters are not charging the battery, then the issue could be with the battery, AC adapter port or the motherboard.

    Take out the battery and try starting the system with AC adapter only. If it works, battery needs to be replaced.

    Else, AC Adapter port or mobo may be the cause. Take it to the tech.

    Sounds like the place where the cord hooks into is messed up... that can happen from too much rough tugging.

    If the battery is not charging, it could be the battery itself is failing. I've found good replacement batteries on Amazon for about $25 with postage.

    One other thing... you should be plugging the power cord into a power protection/power conditioning device like CyperPower or APC. The batteries in these die too, so you will have to take this device to a place like Altex or Fry's to have the battery within replaced.
