UTI train wreck?

Hey. So. I needed to go run errands one day and because I don't have a car I ended up walking 9 miles in 90 degree weather. I drank water, juice, and even chocolate milk like crazy that day, but in the middle of the walk I felt a UTI coming on. When I got home I got a huge jug of cranberry juice and chugged it in a couple hours.

- Next morning I felt terrible

- Continued to drink water (at one point 5 lbs (90 fluid oz) in 4 hours)

- Went to the doctors

- Confirmed chronic dehydration (HOW?!), off the charts infection and blood in my urine.

- Got antibiotics

- Antibiotics did nothing.

- Got AZO

- Got different antibiotics

- One dose of AZO every 30 hours, so it is getting better....

- Went off AZO

- Felt just as bad as I did before I even went to the dr's

- Dr prescribed different antibiotics told me to go to the hospital

- Hospital said they'd get the results in 3 days

- 3 days pass and they tell me they need another sample, wont tell me whats wrong

- Can't get to the hospital for another 4 days.

- Just developed a yeast infection from the antibiotics. -_-

Are there ANY home tricks or tips for ANY of this? It's been almost a month with a terrible UTI and now a yeast infection! I am so uncomfortable! Any tips, reassuring words, tricks.... anything will be helpful. (And it's Finals week...)

Keep taking the AZO cranberry pills and try taking cystex. You can find it in the same area as the AZO or ask the pharmacist. I have chronic uti's and because of the frequent antibiotics I also get yeast infections as a result. Drinking cranberry juice is good but it has a very small percentage of cranberry in it compared to the pills. Drinking things like powerade and Gatorade are good for dehydration because it helps to replenish electrolytes. Good luck!
