Memory card requires formatting but there's still videos on it?

Please help me! I filmed a two hour French project on my mom's kodak camera. when I got home I tried putting it the memory card in my computer and nothing happened then we tried plugging it into the computer using a cord and nothing happened. then when I turned the camera on it says the memory card requires formatting and that all pics need to be deleted if I do it. BUT I CANT. I CANT LOSE MY PROJECT WE WORKED SOOOOO HARD ON IT. what do I do? please help me im crying

    Kill your teacher, move to Canada and never look back, that's what I did.

    insert the card a few times. i get that same format popup at times. click cancel, take it out and re-insert a few more times.

    Reboot and try again.
