Do people who hate socialism refuse to call the police or fire department?

Do people who hate capitalism throw their computers out the window, make their own clothes from plants, and not work for a private company?

So simple minded. We don't have a police department and our fire department is 100% volunteer (all 7 of them). There's a whole, big, wide world different from the one you live in out there.

We used to not have fire departments in our towns and cities. We used to have to pay, and when we did, they would install a placard near our front door. If our house caught on fire and we had the placard, they would put out the fire. If we didn't have the placard, they'd roast marshmallows.

Thankfully, we have socialized fire departments but you can still hire special private units to protect your house specifically in areas where wild fires are common.

The battle isn't over socialism as much as it's over how much socialism is correct for America. Less than Scandinavia apparently.

That weak argument is overused and still does not make sense.

Police and fire departments existed long before the idea of socialism was ever pondered.

The argument is beyond absurd.

But still, quite typical of the left.

To oppose big, intrusive, oppressive government does not mean one opposes local police.

People who hate Capitalism should refuse to shop at grocery stores and watch TV!

Out of their principled disdain for private sector capitalism provided to all citizens equally, and paid for by the people that use it.

See the socialism I hate is when the government does not give me a choice, like paying into SS, unemployment, forcing me to believe in and and pay for abortions and man-made global warming.

Now you may have a point, because the government is trying to stop me from defending myself, so I must depend on the government police that put you on hold when you call 911.

Quit forcing me to pay for government cops and fire and I will defend myself, or call private security or private fire department for much less money.

Most of them have not the slightest idea of what socialism is. It's just a fashionable insult.

You don't understand what socialism is. It's public ownership to some degree of the means of manufacturing. One of the proper roles of government is the protection of rights and liberties of it's citizens. Police and fire are services that should be supplied by government.

They represent me on the lines through taxation. In California that takes a big bite out of my check. Every time a California Highway patrol officer writes a ticket for expired registration they get a raise practically.
