Looking to do a tune up, how much?
I have a 2000 civic ex and its never gave me any problems. Its been well taken care of but i want to give it a really good tune up to start buying it new parts.
Should i buy the parts i want, and THEN do a tune up? Or do a tune up first?
Also, how much would an expensive tune up cover and what things will get replaced? Im willing to put 500$ just on the tune up.
(The cars been great so i know it will last me a long time. As long as i keep treating it nice)

"New parts"??? What are you even talking about? That part of your rambling question is far too vague to be answered. As for a "tune-up", that term is antiquated and inaccurate. If you mean normal scheduled service, that's a different matter. You fail to state the mileage or usage of your vehicle, but it will likely need new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor - but that's about it as far as routine maintenance. Total will probably be about $400 at the dealer.
You WILL also need a timing (cam) belt and coolant pump at MAXIMUM of 105,000 mlles. That routine, normal maintenance will be about $900 at the dealer (or slightly less at a competent independent Honda shop).
