problem with my lymph node what could it be?

For the past 4+ years my right lymph node on the top part of my neck below my ear is consistently swollen. Sometimes not as big as others but at times I feel as though its as big as a golf ball. I have seen a normal family doctor but he just felt it and said its nothing without even looking into it. I plan on going to see another doctor for a second opinion but I was just curious if someone else has had this experience and what it was. Also I am aware that they fluctuate in size depending on whether you are sick or not but even when im not sick it still will swell tremendously. If it makes a different I am a 19 year old female whos generally healthy.

    Hi,

I am 24 years old and currently fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I walked around with a gumball sized lump in my neck for 5-6 years before i went to the doctor in 2011. I went tol a ent specialist but the only reason i did was there were more little ones popping up and not leaving (for the prrvious years it was only the one). They removed the big lump and sent it for biopsy, sure enough it was leukemia. If you have questions or are even the least bit concerned about a lump go to a specialist asap, if there is something there u might catch it before its gotten too bad and have great chance at being cured. I waited too long and I'm fighting every day DON'T WAIT ever even at the littlest thing if your thinking cancer its not worth it.
