dance costume ideas? urgent!?
Okay so within 4 weeks my dance secondary school are putting a 2 day show which will go towards our btec dance unit.
Our group needs a costume idea but we cant think of anything. Our dance is about the evolution of dance so we have many different styles of dance: (in order) ballet/contemporary, caberate, swing, hip hop & dance/commercial
What costume can we use that would be suitable for each style? We dont want anything to fancy, expensive and in your face but we want to enhance our piece?
We are all girls aged 15 so nothing too provocative, thank you!!

I think for the ballet/contemporary you should wear a simple leotard or unitard, black most likely.
For cabaret, black shorts and shirt, (I apologize, I'm not familiar with this genre.)
Swing (sorry I don't know)
Hip hop I believe would be a matching shorts and shirt, maybe a belt, and a headband

ballet - tutu over leotard and leggings, perhaps with velcro at waist so tutu can be a fluffy strip.
contemporary - remove tutu, opened out could be a prop
cabaret, bunch tutu into a tail, fan or headress
swing - pull up leggings to pedal pushers
hip hop, baseball cap
commercial dance, not quite sure what you are aiming at, pop video?
But don't go overboard on costume. The dance should speak for itself.
