Google Chrome slows down over time?
So I've had Google Chrome for over a year, but recently I noticed it starting to work very slowly, often not being able to open new pages for several seconds or so. I haven't installed any new programs or gone to new sketchy sites that I can think of. I tried using other browsers on my computer, and even Internet Explorer (as well as Safari and FireFox) is more functional than Chrome at this point.
Google search has been especially bad, as it will only work in short periods of time, and I have to wait until it works again until I can search something.
I also tried uninstalling Chrome, then reinstalling it, and it actually seemed to work fine and normal, but then after a few months or so, it started slowing down again, although other browsers seem to remain unaffected.
Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone else know what's going on or have a clue how to stop this from happening?
Interesting note:
When I go to my local Starbucks to study, my laptop seems to actually work completely fine, or at least on par with all the other laptops being used in the place. It's only when I'm at home that it starts acting strange, although it's still only Google Chrome that's acting up. However, no one else in my household experiences problems like this.
So I guess the problem right now is something between my Google Chrome browser on my laptop with my home's Wi-Fi.

The best way is to download Ccleaner here http://bitly.com/UrALrK
Or you can go on Windows operating system locate the command prompt and go there to do the following:
Create a Recovery file of system and date it today.
Then begin by;
delete the 'Temp' folders..they have hidden subfolders so you need to set the attributes in order to bypass this. For each subfolder delete all cookies and rubbish left behnd after install-uninstalled programs. Do a 'dir' command to check your progress. Make sure the 'Temp' file is empty.
goto c:\windows\prefetch and delete everything in there..no exceptions
goto c:\windows folder and delete all the '$' files that have been installed by updates. They can all be succesfully deleted and just take up disk space.
Locate the Internet Temporary Files..Check to see how high the saving level is..some have it set at 30 days..but that stores faaaar tooo much data..though it slows down the system overal. Keep this to a minimum..suggest 2 or 5 at most.
Delete all 'cookies' all those you don't need.
Locate the windows directory and go through the folders you know and those you don't need. Check this once a week at least. Some programs will install under XP as NT and older systems where there is no check of systems weight.
Check to see that system files have not changed since last booting. Things like .ini files or .bat are important items.
Check for 'Hidden Directories' all over the disk...do this at the command prompt:
dir *.* /ah wil show these hidden directories
Check the 'dir' command for all parameters

If the network connection has been tested and is fine, the biggest cause of a gradual slowdown in any of the browsers is a popup blocker. Popups are individual frames with individual code on a page. When a frame, with code, loads, it is an ad so it loads separately. When a popup blocker stops a popup, it isn't actually stopping anything, or blocking anything. It is replacing the code in the frame with more code. Although they give the appearance of blocking an ad, they arent really doing anything. You are still receiving the packets that contain the code, the code is being moved to a different location from the frames. This takes twice the processing power and uses more DRAM than if you were to just to let them run. But that is an inconvenience.
Your best option before going the amatuer route of checking everything else first, is to:
a. Download and run Wisecare365 free version.
b. Disable (Temporarily) your browsers ad/popup blocker.
If that does not show an increase in speed. Then there is something other than basic ad-ons, because most of the other ad-ons a purely basic.
Your next steps are to check your Inet transfer rates and your actual router transfer rates.
Run a speed test through speedtest.net. Keep in mind that providers offer an "Up to" speed on the up and down streams. So if you are close to what you are paying for, then that isnt an issue.
Second is to check your router transfer rates. This tests the speed between the router and devices for deliver of packets (Files).
You need two computers on your network. Network properly set up.
Step 1
Right-click on the desktop of one of the computers that is connected to the router. Select "New" and click "Folder."
Step 2
Right-click the folder you just created and click "Properties." Click the "Sharing" tab and select "Advanced Sharing." Click the "Share this folder" check box.
Step 3
Click "Permissions" and make sure the "Allow" check boxes for the group labeled "Everyone" are checked. Click "OK" and select "Close."
Step 4
Download the LAN Speed Test (Lite) program on a second computer. If it does not open automatically after downloading it, browse to the location you saved it to and double-click it.
Step 5
Click "Folder or Server IP." Click "Network," select the arrow to the left of the first computer's name and select the shared folder you created. Click "OK," select "Start Test" and choose "OK."
Step 6
Read the values for "Mbps" under the Writing and Reading columns. The writing speed is how fast information can be copied to the other computer. The reading speed is how fast information can be accessed from the other computer. Delete the shared folder you created when you are finished with testing.
Match your transfer rates with the type of router you have (802.11N/AC etc)

There might be few possible actions to be taken to solve this issue:
1. Make sure hardware acceleration is disable if you don't have it. Go to Setting -> Show Advance Setting -> System, Uncheck Use hardware acceleration and click restart.
2. Do not use lot of extensions if you do not need. Click on setting and on the top left, you will see extensions.
3. Clear browsing history. Go to History and click clear browsing data on the top left of the browser.
Hopefully you'll get it solved. :)

Malwarebytes to remove possible viruses http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/
CCleaner to remove random crap on your computer https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standar...
Just use Malwabytes to find any viruses on your PC first, of that's the issue then it's fixed. If there's nothing, run CCleaner to clear all sorts of crap from your computer.
Ooh, ok, it's faster at Starbucks I'd reccomend changing your DNS server from whatever you use currently. Here's an explanation of how to change it on Windows 8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHKxVJe-bsc&safe=a...
