USB 3.0 into a 2.0?

My 2.0 usb updated itself to a 3.0.

Is there anyway i can turn it back to a 2.0? My blu ray player only works with 2.0

    Yes it is a hardware difference not software. Otherwise you wouldn't see any 2.0's being sold. 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0 ports however.

    usb is forward and backwards compatible. It is not the issue. Also usb 2.0 can't update to usb 3.0, there are physical hardware differences
