Similarities in a Music producer and a Orchestra Conductor?

Is there any similarities in either of these two music careers? I am just curious.

Only similar because they deal with music but after that they're as different as night and day. A conductor is a musician with real musical talent. A musical producer simply recognizes musical talent in others and exploits it.

    Not really.

A conductor guides the musicians as they play.

A producer doesn't conduct, but suggests musical changes and sounds and recording strategies, assists musicians in the styles and song parts to make it as good a song as he can.
