Choosing the right drop hitch inches?

So the trailer is 12.25in off the ground. The top of the hitch on the truck is 18.25in.

I have a 3.25in drop hitch is that alright so that when its loaded and the truck goes down a bit it levels out.

Or should i move up to a 2 or 2.5in drop?

What ever it takes so the trailer is quite level when loaded with a couple hundred pounds of tongue weight to prevent fish tailing. Especially if you have a double axel trailer, we want the weight quite equal on both axles. But we still need tongue weight so choose the right drop hitch.

    This is how:

Always get the right height, don't just guess at it or use something that you know is wrong. That is too dangerous. You don't want to lose everything and you don't want to pay for someone else's stuff when everything comes apart or you lose control.
