i would like to thank you for asking such a wonderful question which made me do a very deep thinking to find out the meaning of this quote in this given one hour free time of mine. i love to utilize my free time in such valuable things of life and you provided me the opportunity to do a deep thinking for which i am really very thankful to you. this quote has a very deep meaning. generally literature and philosophy is not understandable to the people who spend most of their quality time here on yahoo answer. they answer in these types of deep and intellectual sections as if they are answering in science and math or P&S sections, where you can sum up answer in one word or a single line. math and science, pop up answer in your mind. for example- 2+2 is equal to what. the answer will pop up immediately in your mind that the answer is 4. what does water turns into after boiling? it turns into vapor. thus science and math questions pops up answers in your mind but philosophy and quotes of renowned creative writers make you sit and do thinking that, what is it in actual that they are trying to say or convey. in philosophy, only word like "soul" can give you a wide sphere to think, you can do thinking for hours on the million aspect of this single word but no philosophy has a single word answer. similarly a creative writer writes a very very deep meaning thing in one line and only those can understand it that posses some knowledge of philosophy or literature. both philosophy and creative writers take us to a journey towards inside that is why no philosophical thing can be understood by people with less intellect. they will answer it according to the intelligence they actually posses which makes them look like a very pity soul in the eyes of deep thinkers. they are giving meaning of the word, without doing anything coz they are unable to do deep thinking in actual, it is not their fault but it is their limit coz only the well educated or real intellectual can make a journey towards inside.

in the society, every single individual has some role to play. the creative writers plays their role by giving direction through their pen to the society and wakes the people up, who are sleeping from inside. in actual the real meaning of education is to wake up the sleeping souls. and being related with education, the creative writes are always trying to play their role in the best of ways and that is why they are renowned and not just some common yahoo user who is wasting their time talking nonsense over here.

being an intellect, a creative writer which ultimately makes him sort of philosopher this writer has a responsibility to guide society in a right direction and playing his role of a good creative writer he in symbolic way is trying to convey this message to the society that the more a person goes away from nature, the more he drags himself away from real happiness and that actually become the reason for all his sorrow. artificial things can never provide us real happiness. the example lies in the birds- they are all so happy, the animals - they seems all relaxed, flowers - they seems always smiling, trees-that are so happy even when they are alway giving and giving. the only difference between them and us is that they are so near nature, in nature and they are all natural whereas we are so much far away from nature, we are almost artificial, like a plastic flower which will not ruin easily but at the same time it never can smile in real way and it can never give fragrance. and the real reason for humans sorrow is that, in the name of luxury, he doesn't want to come out of his comfort zone and that is why he has built an artificial wall around himself which drags him away from nature and that is the reason for all his sorrows.

edited- william has also explained the meaning of this quote in a very simple way which might be understandable to everyone. his answer has a touch of western philosophy whereas mine is influenced by eastern philosophy

can you imagine anyone enjoying even 1/100th of the guy in following picture in a bathtub ever. nothing is compatible the natural thing.
