2004 Hyundai Accent gl 2d Hatchback?

What is the best type of oil I should use on my car hyundai it has over 160,000 miles. Should I keep using the owners manual recommendation or should I chage it to high mileage oil cause it has a lot of miles now and should I change the oil more recently ? Also should I used 5w30 or 10w30 ?

    Generally your manual is your guide. You may want to have the oil pressure tested. You are looking for a min. of 10psi per 1000rpm. If it is near or below that figure you may want to change to a slightly heavier oil as this is an indication of some bearing wear which equates to slightly larger clearances. You do not need any additives or "special" hi-mileage oil. Modern oil's already have all the additives needed to prevent lubrication and cooling failures. Fancy oils are like fancy fishing lures, they are specifically designed to remove money from the pockets of the buyers.
