Did they change the skin of KFC hot wings (UK)?

I remember about a few years ago somewhat 2002 to 2004 the skin of hot wings was much more soft and juicy like the skin found on the chicken tender breasts and one pieces. Did anyone notice the change they made? Now its a crusty, crispy and yellow - a bit like the batter of fish and chips but more peppery. They didn't use to make it like that and am surprise no one recognized this.

Yep. I prefer it like this though. And they seem to have gotten rid of the gherkin in the McDonalds cheeseburger too.
