if UKIP get there way and stop all immigration into the UK what will happen to the 6 million + Brits that live and work in Europe?

Interesting thing is why do people assume the educated would WANT to come here with the UK outside the EU?

(you are a fool to think that countries with educated UK citizens working there would not want to keep them. And stupid to think those people would automatically want to leave.

MOST of them are there for a reason. And that reason is they WANT to be there- either the pay is better and/or the lifestyle is better than in the UK)

UKIP might like to only allow those in - but if none want to come what then?

Second thing is why do they assume the educated already here would want to stay, when there would be far better opportunities in the rest of the world?

Globalisation works for people as well as companies.

In the 60s and 70s we had the "brain drain" when loads of entrepreneurs and well educated left the UK -

Think the UK leaving the EU would trigger another "brain drain"

First and foremost there are approximately 1.5 Million Brits working outside the UK, where you get 6 Million from is anybodies guess.

Secondly the vast amount of Brits abroad are retired, they are very valuable to the places where they live as they spend all their money in those places and are therefore a massive boon to the economies affected. They do not get social housing as they own the properties, and a vast amount also employ locals as gardeners etc.

So that is two parts dealt with.

UKIP will not stop immigration at all. It will stop uncontrolled immigration from the EU member states. Applying similar rules to those that we already apply to people from the rest of the world. Surely to do otherwise, like we do now, would be discriminatory, like it currently is and for a long time has been under the Lib/Lab/Con administrations? So there is immigration dealt with. Anything else?

Vote UKIP

Ex pats don't try to alter the culture and customs of the country that they are living in, not like the immigrants who come here and bleed the benefits system dry. Ex Pats are contributing to the economy of the country that they reside in.

Maybe you should look up Ukip before commenting on them. The bnp would stop all immigration, Ukip just want a more sensible immigration system they've said like the Australian one in Australia they take in tons of immigrants but they do criminal record checks and only take people with skills unlike uk that takes in anyone even if you can't speak English have been in prison and have no skills at all.

Surely is not to stop all immigration, its to stop the scroungers coming here to suck on our benefit system.If people have skills for our benefit as a nation, than they are welcome to come here.

As JANIE has pointed out the two subjects are not comparable, because ex-pats move in most cases to a better climate in retirement and are in most cases financially sound.

the brits who are in europe are classed as ex pats not immigrants they dont take money or rent houses they bye theres and no goverment hand out from the country they live in only immigrants claim money and rob from the country they move to and take housing and jobs from the uk it happend before in germany in the late 80 early 90 it just about bankrupted them and the same will happen in uk unless its stoped i know the differance between black and white but you dont like it when folk dont see your way if it annoys you that much dont ask questions tin and i am not racist my mother and father were both born in trinadad

The difference is our people living abroad are net contributors to their host economies.........by all means they can send our wealthy retirees home......send our successful businessmen home........our highly skilled contractors home.....

It'll hurt those countries far more than us......

Besides its not about stopping immigration as you very well know.......it's about being sensible, being sympathetic to our traditional culture, and listening to the great majority in this country.......

PLEASE reply to my comment to you on my question, if you're a real doc I REALLY need your help, I'll vote you best answer and do anything, I just wanna know if I can be anoymous as a patient once my medical records have been issues and my next of kin has been told as I don't want hundreds of friends arriving at the hospital wanting to see me! I'm sure it's possible as I've been an anonymous out patient before, but is in patient different or not, please reply, thank you and sorry to bother you x
