Should I initiate contact after a weekend long argument?

Guy I'm talking to got mad at me on Saturday. He is a total homebody and prefers to stay in. I like to go out once in a while. I made the joke of making him go out and doing something. He said nope he rather stay in. I made the joke of saying you don't want to be seen with me in public lol.

He got mad and said I hate when you act like that the jokes you make about you are not funny Ttyl. I got made and told him I'm sarcastic but if he wants to be like that have a great weekend instead. He said fine since you want to take it that far.

So I texted him later Sunday apologizing and telling him I was thinking of him. No answer. I did the same thing on Monday and his reply was that I told him I would talk to him Tuesday and he would wait till then to speak to me.

It's Tuesday, do I wait on him to text me or should I? Why would he even respond on Monday?
