Should Yahoo answers go back to the old format where you can tell a question was resolved before clicking it?

It's annoying, I was just in another section and clicked on their third question down to answer it, and it was already resolve

No. That change was made at the request of other users over the years. It has nothing to do with the old (green) format versus the new (purple) one. There is now no such thing as a "resolved" question. Even after a Best Answer is chosen, you can still answer the question and get your 2 points. All questions can be answered at any time, which is why there is now a single stream of questions.

consider this - if you answer a Q that already has a BA, you now get the 2 points and the asker (if they set it up for this) gets a notification you answered so they will read your answer

I have gotten TUs and comments from others and the asker on answers I gave AFTER a Q got a BA

the newest change is if the best answer is reported and deleted, the Q does not go down with it and the asker can choose another BA - so you might answer a Q with a BA, the BA is deleted, and the asker might pick your answer for a second BA

but most of us prefer to answer Qs that have no BA

you can narrow the list of Qs to ones that do not yet have a BA

hover your mouse over where it says All and a drop down menu appears with Fewest Answers and No Best Answer - pick No Best Answer and it will only list Qs that do not yet have a BA

Under the new system, questions are never resolved and remain open forever. If the asker chooses a best answer, that answer will always be the first seen, but the question never closes and you can answer it as long as Yahoo remains a site and doesn't decide to change things again.

YA should just go back to the way it was before all these stupid updates. I really hate the new layout for it.

'Should they' - IMO, yes. 'Will they' - apparently not.

Those that requested these changes really made it a mess for those of us that didn't. I hope SCT Henry is right on his comment regarding 'complaining does get their attention.'

I sure have noticed much complaining since the changes so depending on what it takes to get their attention, I suppose anything's possible.

It was easier when you could see which questions were resolved and I'd never be so rude as to answer a question that has already been resolved whether the BA was helpful or not. The past should be the past. There are plenty of new and redundant questions on here from new members. If you scroll over many years past avatars you will notice that many of them are no longer even here.

Source(s): I'm a hearing impaired guy that does miss the resolved feature. I've recently looked up questions on Google and when I went to the YA search, the question was years old with a 2 week old answer. IMO, that was not a smooth move since YA pops up in the top search engines 90% of the time when you type in a question on Google.

It would be nice for the asker to know if a question had a BA (not resolved since that status is gone) so they could keep up with what they missed. It really means nothing to the answerers since all questions can be answered even years later.
