Optifine won't work?
I downloaded OptiFine Ultra for 1.7.9 from minecraft forums and i am pretty sure I installed it correctly...
1) I went into minecraft.jar folder
2) I went to versions folder
3) I renamed the 1.7.9 folder to 1.7.9_OptiFine
4) I renamed the jar and json files into the OptiFine versions, i added "_OptiFine" in the json file through notepad
5) I opened the jar file and deleted the meta-inf folder, and pasted the OptiFine JAR file into it
6) then I saved everything and logged into Minecraft
yeah i did all of this but when i went in minecrat nothing changed. i couldn't press CTRL it wouldn't zoom in, and none of the video settings changed to be all fanchy smanchy like its supposed to be.
Am I installing OptiFine the wrong way? Please walk me through all the correct ways to install if I'm doing it wrong.
Also I installed OptiFine 1.7.4 before and it worked perfectly.

I looked in the minecraft.jar folder and the "bin" folder isn't there. Is that normal? I dont recall deleting anything important other than META-INf

Delete your .minecraft (Make sure you remember your servers and save your worlds), then reinstall minecraft (Just go to the launcher and press play for 1.7.9)Then right click Optifine (The .zip folder) and click "Open With" open it with java and click install. Then in the bottom left of your minecraft launcher click your profile and click the Optifine profile.
