Age difference in a relationship? Please help!?

I am a teenager - 16 years old. He is 30. I fell in love with him from first sight. I found his facebook and we started communicating. We both fell in love with each other. But then, he started to reject me every time I wanted us to meet. He even stopped using his facebook. I often see him on the beach, but we talk like friends and nothing more, although we are in love. I want to hold his hand and tell the world that I love him, but I can't. Sometimes I feel that he doesn't want me the same way I do. He is a really attractive man, but I don't want sex or something like that, I just want him, I feel hurt every damn time he rejects me. He is free, he isn't married and doesn't have a girlfriend or children. The only thing stopping our relationship is our age difference. This is not honest, because people my age are drinking, having sex, bullying, taking drugs, raping each other on parties and all this is practically allowed by the law. But when it comes to a decent shy girl like me and a perfect nice man, we can't be together! Why? Plus, my mother supports me, but the people's prejudices stop him.
