If this is some argument on pirating movies, it's not a good one. When a movie company has people watch the movie, they (the IP owners) are allowing it to get feedback from them before the actual release. And it's usually a "raw" version of the movie, before a lot of the special effects or the final editing is done. So the movie that is actually released could be quite a bit different than the one these people got to see for free. What makes this different from pirating the movie online is that the copyright owner give permission to have it screened, while they do not give permission to have it distributed for free online.

Copyright is NOT about the money, but about the control over what can and cannot be done with their property. Would you be OK if your friend came over to "borrow" your car without your permission or letting you know?

It depends on who makes the movie and who finances it. There is no requirement though. Major studios do it.

I was "lucky" enough one time when I went to the movie theater, they asked if I would like to view a movie that had not been released, for free. All I had to do was a short survey afterward. The movie was awful. So, it's not always a benefit to see a free movie.

Yes, movie studies have many people who screen the movie.

It's their job, no a way to get free movies.

    What are you on about,

Before a movie is released it is shown to any number of people before it is released to the public.

This ranges from the director through to senior studio people, lawyers, the film classification boards in various countries, selected members of the public etc etc.

What exactly is your question or problem with this?
