2³ = 8 wikipedia says base is 2; exponent is 3; power is 8 Isn't 8 the result? the answer? the product?

    Yes, = means is equal to.

    2^3 = 2*2*2 = 8

    If Wiki is calling the power 8 then this doesn't make sense.
