Exchanging money in Germany?
How much does it cost to exchange money in Germany. Let's say I want to exchange $500 US currency for Euros, how much does it cost to do the exchange?
PS: Asking because I have a friend in Germany who is in the military and I was just wondering how it worked.

When I want to buy 500 U.S. dollars in Germany the bank (Sparkasse) will use the current exchange rate and add a transaction fee of 3%.
$500.00 ▬ €369.20 + transaction fee €11.08 = €380.28
If you want to sell dollars it will be:
$500.00 ▬ €369.20 - transaction fee €11.08 = €358.12
Do not exchange at the airport since they usually charge higher transaction fees.
The cheapest way to get €uros in Germany is using an ATM card of a U.S. bank which has a partner bank in Germany.
