How to cope with my first ever bad level?
So I'm the smartest in my form at school and in history my expected level for the end of the year is 6B. I was pretty much almost there in the last assessment and i got a 6C. But this time on my essay I got a 4A! That's the worse grade I've had all year! I haven't had a 4A in any subject sinse I was 9 and that was good back then but now I really have to work hard. Because of this set back I'm probably only going to get 5A overall at the end of the year, unless I can get a 6A/7C in the next assessment. I'm in year 7 and I've been really pressured to do well by my parents so I feel as if I've let them down... once I get the courage to tell them... I'm really scared how they'll react because my dad always tells me 2nd in the class isn't good enough, so I can't imagine what will happen if I tell them I'm 10th now.
Please answer sorry it was so long, I'm really upset about this (btw I'm 12)

lol I'm an a level student and I was exactly like you. But what you need to understand is that GCSES barely matter. They are only for getting to A levels, they are the stuff that matters. Any of the grades that you get before GCSE's don't affect anything, they won't go on you CV. they are useless

I get what you mean. Earlier this year i got a D in my geography test (im expected A*) and i was SOOO annoyed with myself, i didnt even tell my parents... but i looked at the mistakes i had done in my paper and learned from them. Now, i am again a top student and im trying my best at whatever i can do. Of course, its annoying when you fall and fail at something- but believe me, ALL of the best people fail at something in their life, but they have learned from their mistakes, which leads them on to becoming great people.
I hate to be cheesy and stuff but if you look at people like Michael Jordan- he was kicked off his basketball team when he was younger, and he was really angry with himself. He didnt give up though, he used his fail as a way of motivating himself to do better- and where is he now? One of the best sports players!
Dont give up with one tiny setback... use it as a way to push yourself to strive further and harder with your education, otherwise you will fall and never be able to redeem your number 1 ranking in your class.
Learn from your mistakes... I am sure you will do GREAT in future!
