Why do people on YA act like they are oblivious…..?

Second thing is not everyone is good at using search engines.

Third thing is a lot of times questions involve subjectivity which people want, AKA, opinions.

Fourthly, many questions are more complex then what a simple Google search might get you... more meaning, a subjective-objective question, if you Google search it you might only find bias answers.

I find many people on this site are incredibly naive on a wide range of subjects, so it is not surprising that the idea of getting answers from the search engine are too complex for them to grasp. I have answered questions where the person has said they have searched all over the internet for the answer, without success, yet I can find it within seconds. I am not saying they have not really tried, or that I am any smarter than they are; it is just sometimes the actual way you word a query on a search engine may be the difference between success or failure. And then, of course there are the ones who just want someone to do all the work for them!
