Hi this might sound gross but I am 15 and I was supposed to get my period like 3 days ago but for the past three days I have been having a brown discharge. Is this my period I'm just freaked out and I don't want to tell my parents.

This is your period.Having a dark brown menstrual discharge is not unusual. Menstrual blood may be red, pink or brown. Often girls aren't aware of this when they first start and don't even know they are menstruating when in fact they are.
Menstrual blood may be red, pink or brown. Menstrual fluid is the combination of blood (which is liquidy) and tissue (which is more solid, or "clumpy") from the lining of the uterine wall. Sometimes your period looks like just blood, sometimes it is mixed with clots and tissue.

This is just spotting - blood mixing with discharge, normal at the start of your period.
