Animals don't have muscles in the right places to smile as WE would define 'smiling', but they smile in their own way, yes, at least the ones with sufficient frontal love development to have emotions. Frogs don't smile. Birds don't get amused. DOGS smile, in their own way: tail wagging is just a part of it.
