Should I join The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)?
I got a letter in the mail today "recognizing me for outstanding academic achievement" from the NSHSS. They want $60 and then I can become a lifetime member and all that. I know it's not a scam, it is a real company that has apparently given out scholarships but it doesn't seem like it's that worth it. I am an honors/AP student who gets all As and Bs but I didn't really do that well on my PSAT so I'm a little suspicious about that part of the letter. Does anyone know if members actually get anything that helps with college? Or is it just $60 for a t-shirt?

How do you know it's not a scam? The lottery is a real company, but it's still a scam.

Money only flows one way. Sometimes you give it to an organization, sometimes an organization gives it to you. But not both. If they tell you that you should give them money first, then they'll give you money later, that sounds suspicious.
