wife management software?

I need software that will let me see who is using the wifi and will let me turn off wifi at midnight. Do I need to buy another router/gateway that comes with such software?

Update:

Of course I meant WIFI software. The old lady is unmanageable.

Your router should have scheduling built in to turn it off at certain times.

As far as seeing who is using it you have a few options.

Within your router's admin panel, in the DHCP section there will be a list of the computers which currently have a IP lease. Once connected, they will stay in the list until the lease expires even if they are off line.

More to your need I expect, however, are a couple of other tools: WireShark and Wireless Network Watcher.

Did you check if your current router doesn't already have what you want built in? 90% of routers especially the who part is a standard feature. Admittantly, you need to know who has what Ip address, but, a good ipconfig in the cmd while logged into whatever computer while give the answer you need. Beyond this networking managment software might be a little too intense for what your looking for. That being said if you don't wan't to buy a new router switch to dd-wrt software on your router as I know that it has what you want (assuming your router is compatible with that software).
