Car won't shift from park?
'95 Geo Prism
The car won't shift out of Park unless I push a screwdriver into the shifter. Once it's out of park it goes from reverse to neutral fine when I press the brake. Also my radiator fan doesn't seem to be turning on. This all happened after getting my AC working again after 7 years. My guess would be an electrical problem but all my fuses have continuity. Any ideas?

All car have had shifter interlocks since those cases of a car dropping into gear and going around in circles while being warmed up.
Generally the shifter can not be moved out of park unless an electric solenoid is engaged.
So it could be burned out, you are not pressing the brake pedal when you are trying to shift out of park, or the brake switch is not working.
You can just remove the solenoid locking mechanism at the shifter.
The radiator fan is controlled by a heat sensor in the radiator, a relay, and the AC switch.
When you turn the AC on, the fan should also go on.
If not, it is likely the relay that is bad.

Good answer but it didn't help. The fans not working and the shift lock were related. It was because of a 15a fuse was blown under the left kick panel. I used a DMM to check the fuses the first time. The second time I pulled the fuse and saw it was visibly damaged. Replace it and all is good.
