Types of characters every sci-fi/fantasy book or movie should have?

I am writing a book and I have a heap of different personalities-

- The genius (also an asshole)

- The sarcastic smart one

- the one who is forced into fighting rather then choosing to

- the goth

- the kind girl

- The badass girl who is a good shot

- The femme fatal who is sorta like catwoman

- the guy who is just generally cool

- the very ADHD, loud and excitable one

- The villain-like creepy guy

Villains-

- the chaotic one

- the one that scares the absolute crap out of every body

- the sort of normal one who everybody in a way likes and feels sorry for

- the way too extreme, as in eats the heart of her victims one

-and the one who is more powerfull then all of them put together

Are there any vital personalities I need or any I don't really need or are too cleche????

Thanks

No, no, no, no. A tip I learnt in my creative writing class when I was at high school is to STAY AWAY from stereotypes because it just leads to endless horrible cliches and mary sue/gary stu characters. If you're gonna write a story, you CAN NOT have characters with certain stereotypical personalities based on the genre you're going after cause that just asking for a typical fanfiction cliched kinda writing style.

You shouldn't make a list of characters a 'book needs'. Sure, there are roles to fill, but you don't want your character to be like every other book. The books that are popular tend to have well rounded, UNIQUE characters that the audience can relate to and NOT characters the genre 'needs'.

    No no no!

You don't NEED certain characters. If you do that your story will be just like any other. Create your own unique characters, and your own unique story.

Making a list of required characters is just setting yourself up for cliches. Instead, decide what the conflict of the story needs and have well-developed realistic characters.

The kind girl is definitely too cliche, as is the general cool guy. You should have a shy character in there somewhere as well.
