I have a tire tread depth wear question.?
I bought a Dodge Journey in 2010 with the Kumho Solus KH16 tire on it. I swap them out for winter tires every season so I only use these tires for about 11,517 kilometers per year on average. So far, I have put 57,585 kilometers on these tires. The tread is getting pretty low and I likely will need to replace them before next year.
A new has a tread warranty of 90,000 kilometers.
So my question is this: Do OEM tires come with less tread than tires purchased after market? Or should I be contacting my dealer about why these tires are wearing so fast? I rotate them all the time and there is no uneven wear of any kind.

I don't recall OEM tires having less tread depth than replacements.
It might be prudent though to physically measure the tread depth as that is what will be done anyway before any warranty consideration is judged. And most likely the warranty will 'pro rate' the pricing according to the wear. Meaning that you may end up paying close to full price anyway.
Ya really need to dig into issue a bit more to know if there is any benefit, if the warranty covers anything at all. A quick phone call to the selling dealer may give you all the answers quickly.

Though the Kuhmo Solus KH16 is a very decent quality entry level tire you have pushed it about as far as it can go. 35k mile (57 km) is a very decent live for the KH16. And please understand Kumho's warranty.
"6 Years / Free replacement first 2/32" of wear, then prorated to final 2/32" remaining depth"
So what's your remaining tread depth?
Secondly, any given passenger tire comes new with anywhere from 10/32 to 12/32. You KH16's came new with 10/32. Lastly, automotive dealerships do not deal with tire warranties, you would have to go straight to Kumho. But honestly, you have gotten sufficient wear out of these tires if you have anything more the 2/32 of tread depth remaining.

Contact the dealer. You'll get a consideration of 1/3 off the cost of replacement tires at 60,000 km. They are usually guaranteed for 6 years or the mileage guarantee.

HI tread ware depends on how hard the tires are. Some tire are made of soft rubber and some have hard rubber on them. that's why some tires have a 40,000 tire life and some have 20,000 mile tire life.. as well as dry summer heated roads cause more ware on the tires.
good luck
