Questions about Navy Boot Camp?
Hello! Well I'm barely getting started in the process to become a United States Navy Sailor and I'm super excited this is something I've wanted since middle school, well I have a recruiter and I took my AFQT and will take my ASVAB soon enough all I have to focus on is losing 25 lbs and I should be good to go!!! Anyways getting back on subject, I don't have a ship date yet obviously but what I would like to know is during boot camp what can I do to be a superb recruit? I want to be the best that I can be not only in boot camp but in my military career as a whole. Thank you Navy Vets!!!! HOOYAH!!!

NavyCrab is right. Follow orders and don't jack up, but stay under the radar. Don't ESPECIALLY volunteer for any jobs like RCPO, yeoman, starboard watch, etc. unless you end up getting forced into it. (I actually got the easiest job as the ASMO PO.) Boot camp is a place where you go in, do your thing, and get out if you make the cut. Trust me, as long as you know how to swim, pass the Navy PFA, go over the START guide with the stuff you need to memorize (Chain of commands, Sailor's Creed, 11 General Orders) and pay attention to lectures while in boot camp required for the three academic exams, boot camp is a piece of cake. Last but not least and most importantly, don't be a blue falcon unless you want to be on the RDC's dirtbag list.

While you are at boot, just keep your mouth shut, do what you are told, and try to stay invisible. You can try to shine later, after boot camp.
