My Husband had ACL knee surgery, they put a cadaver ligament in his knee. It is not healing and now he has MRSA. They prescribed antibiotics?

His surgery was 10 weeks ago and I am worried. My friends who are nurses say he needs more than anti biotics. What to do?

What they may be trying to say is that the ligament is infected (not rejected) and needs to be removed to get rid of the infection. He needs to keep in close touch with his surgeon.

first of all what did his surgeon and his pcp say. 10 weeks is far too long for a surgery like that not to have healed. why hasn't he been hospitalized and put on antibiotic ivs I presume hes been given oral ones. you or your kids if you have them could get mersa. if you get that cured it seems like another operation would be in order to take the cadaver ligament out and put another one in. I'm not a medical professional my any means but ive had 12 knee surgerys 6 on each knee and ive never took that long to heal. get another opinion in another town at another hospital and dr now

I would seek medical attention ASAP. Your husband's body may be going through regecting this legament and needs to be removed.
