How to move out and pay for college?
So i'm 20 years old and I am going to be a junior in college this fall. I really need to completely move out of my house but I don't know how to pay for my college and my living situation by myself. My parents have helped by paying for almost half of my tuition. There are just a lot of drugs in my house and my parents are ridiculous. I love my parents but it's hard to live with them being high all the time. If I move out completely they won't help with my college and that is important to me. School loans won't pay for it all especially if I don't go full time. I won't have a car either to get to a job. I do have about $1500 in the bank right now but I won't be able to keep my job if I move out to where my college is at. I'm sure I could figure it out if I had to but I just want some advice. Sure I could call the cops or something but how would that help me or them? Sure they could go to rehab or something but they will lose their jobs and have no money. I really have no idea how they keep their jobs though hahaha
Also sorry I don't know what section to put this under. I don't need a solution to my parents being crazy just advice on money

Start by getting a summer job. Save the money that you earn. Look into financial aid, and usually there is a question about if you want work study, and you should say yes. Granted it once you reach how much they allotted you that's it but it does help. Look around the town where the college is to see what type of jobs are available. Who knows something might pop up that you can get.
If you still can't manage rent even with a roommate and go to school you'll have to pick one. Either moving out or going to school. If you can finish up with in the next couple years then stick it out at your house and save as much as you can during those years and then it makes it a lot easier to move out once you're done.

Few college students can afford tuition + rent at the same time. Unless you have financial help, you will have to choose. Most pick college now & hold on the apartment until after they graduate. With no income, you really have few options unless you want to go farther into debt with those student loans or join the Army.. That may not be your best idea. No part time job will pay all that...but I think you already know that..
My advice: Get a summer job & see what you can save. Then look and see if you can afford to be a roommate or a dorm room. If the answer is "No", then know you have done all you can do. If going to college is the top priority, then tough it out, since that is the best way to achieve your goal. Take this one step at a time. You don't have to do it all at once.
