How to grow old without becoming jaded and cynical?

Fortune does indeed favor the brave.

But happiness favors the person who can realize they are still just like a newborn baby. Life is a wonderous gift. It is your forgeting that fact that makes you cynical. It is you taking life for granted that makes you cynical.

If you remember how ridiculously beautiful life is. If you remember the possibilites in life. If just take a little time to be a baby every once in a while. Life will stay fresh and you won't turn cynical.

What Bruce said is true, to add excitement onto life. But unless you can appreciate life when your doing nothing. Life when your doing something will only be pleasant when your doing that exciting thing. Excitement is good, but most of the time your doing mundane things. Find the excitement in the mundane as well...find it in everything..its there.

Become a Zen master. You will never become cynical. Ever. You could be getting tortured and your outlook will be pure and wonderful. Not to say pain won't be present. But you would not hate the pain. It would just be another part of life. To be experienced. Like every other part.

Someone once said " If all the reasons were known why anyone does anthing, then there would be no one to blame for a wrongdoing."

Although it is aberrant to not hold people accountable for their misdeeds, a wise man knows *hit happens to everone. There is a sound basis for forgiveness to extents of human living, near and far.

Very few of us are of permanent destructive habit. Much of their self-image hangs by the 'necksed' perspective given by encounter until dedications are clear. Last rites are always the latest ones...and these are timely.

If one understands his Creator is pleased when life is positive and meaningful, then such service to this deity is a shame not to afford. God is what you've got if you call the 'd' a 't'.

'Jaded' and 'cynical' are people who have abundantly sampled the ego's simulations of 'Love', and found no Love, no Happiness, and they think that more of the same will yield similar results.

It's the kids who are most cynical. Just scan this board - better yet look at the psychology section. Who are the suicidal, neurotics who think life isn't worth living? Mostly adolescents.

Find something meaningful to do.

Something that makes you happy.

Negativity comes from the lack of true happiness in life.

Get out of your comfort zone and find what makes you happy.

Most people never get out of their confort zone so they end up miserable their entire life.

Dont be one of those people.

Fortune favors the brave.

Keep company of the youth and be open minded.
