Cinders or Embers (they're the same)

    cin·der [pronounced: sin-der]

noun - a partially or mostly burned piece of coal, wood, etc.

    em·ber [pronounced: em-ber]

    noun

    1. a small live piece of coal, wood, etc., as in a dying fire.

    2. the smoldering remains of a fire.
