Do golf balls have an expiration if unused?
I found some good boxes of golf balls in a closet I rarely use. God knows how long they've been in there. Do golf balls ever go bad? They've never been touched.

If it's kept cool and dry it should performs just as well. If the same ball has been under water for a few months then it's another story.

There's no "expiration" per se, but balls can lose their maximum performance characteristics if stored for too long. The balls may lose their compression and not react the same off the clubface. You can still use them, they won't be a hazard or explode or anything like that, but you may not get the max distance or spin that you'd like to see out of them.
