Is it racist for black folk to have an award ceremony like BET that only awards their kind?

technically you're right, but just being honest, the ceremonies by white folks were never given fair chance of winning for all other races from the beginning,

Let's just say if this year Oscar academy only were given prizes to white actors, what do you expect from black ppl or latinos or asian ppl thinking? ( but personally i dont really care about that )

they would most definitely think while these are the best white actors/actresses , who are the best black/latino actors/actresses? they'd want to know?

its just common sense they want to know whos best in their races, it doesnt mean its racist

@allie check wiki, for almost 100 years winners are 95% white, no black director ever won an oscar, being in the audience doesn't mean anything.

Not to be rude the BET awards aren't for just black people you see a lot white people there just look in the audience and some are even nominated for awards like macklemore for example...and other rappers and singers who also performed like jhene aiko..and the oscars have a lot of white people and balck people show up there also...

According to the definition, No it is not because they don't all believe they are (All) better actors then whites. They are celebrating their races abilities and talents.

Update: Forgot to read the description, that is very true and in my opinion is completely wrong. We are giving in to other peoples cultures to much and letting out own slip away.
