Court upholds Frances ban on full-face veil or niqab, should we also ban it? (UK)?

The European Court of Human Rights has upheld Frances ban on wearing the Muslim full-face veil or niqab.

Its not a statement of "Fashion" but oppression surely.

Your thoughts please

Yes it should be banned for security reasons if nothing else. You can't wear a crash helmet are balaclava in a bank, or public building, so why should the veil be allowed?. I applaud France for taking this stand. The UK is a European country and not the Middle East so they should abide by our customs. If we go to their countries we have to abide by the dress code of their country. If they want to integrate then they should not wear the veil. It is in my opinion as well a form of oppression of women.

Hello Grumpy.Tricky question. When push comes to shove face covering garments must be removed in certain locations such as law courts, banks, government buildings, public meetings.police stations and others.

In the case of police stations if a person makes a statement in a garment where the face is concealed they can deny it ever took place unless finger printing took place.

A London male bomber escaped arrest by wearing his sisters full -face veil and other female garments.

I cannot see why a female in this country would need to wear a full-face garment in this day and age as I see it as female discrimination that had a place in the Middle Ages.

I believe France is correct on this one.

I can see a future controversy that will haunt future politicians and it is this. Should people mainly females remove their full-face veils if it is a condition of entry to venues now the EU have voted in favour of veil removal and to demand their removal is not a breach of their Human Rights.

    No!

That is racist! France is showing is Nazism again, they had a Vichy government in World War II so this attack doesn't surprise me.

White Christians are always persecuting Muslims and atheists, this is a violation of human rights! The people need to unite against this law and smash Fascism before another Holocaust happens!

France needs to start banning crucifixes and should close down the Notre Dame, the Catholics in France are trying to ban abortion and gay marriage! France is not Catholic it is 96% atheist and 3% Muslim.

No. I don't believe the state should dictate to the individual what garments they can and can't wear.
