How has Pericles' art contributed/inspired the modern world?

It was a huge moment in Greek art. People have been ripping off the architectural ideas, the compositional ideas, even the aesthetics of the sculptures ever since. Basically, if you massively influenced Ancient Greek art and architecture, then you massively infulenced Roman art and architecture, and rennaissance art and architecture and thus pretty much everything in the West. You also, incidentally may have had an impact on early buddhist art via the Greek influences from Bactria and thus indirectly influenced most of Asia. Greek sculpture is a big deal in terms of the history of art. (Which isn't to say that lots of other things aren't as well.) Greek architecture too. Less obviously perhaps, with exceptions for neo-classical stuff etc... but definitely there.

Look at the Parthenon. Then look at hundreds of banks, university buildings, churches, town halls, etc., in the USA. See any similarities? Yeah.
