How to get up on an overly tall bike?
Forgive the confusion,
I (foolishly) bought a bike online discounting the minimum height requirement of 6 ft where I am only 5 ft 5.
I am trying pretty hard but failing to get on myself. I can only use the sidewalk's elevation but that isn't available all the time.
Is there any technique to get up using the pedals or other method?
A little detail would be awesome...
Thank you..

Your best option is to sell it and get the correct size. If that is not an option, you can get on it like you mount a horse. Put your foot on the pedal while standing next to the bike. Push off the pavement and get a little momentum so you can stand up on the one pedal and swing your leg over the saddle.

lean it over so you can get your foot on the higher pedal, and the tube is low enough to stand over
put foot on high pedal
take off
dangerous though if you have to stop fast
you can do a planned stop by
a. stopping
b. leaning the bike over so the top tube isn;t in your privates
unless it is way too tall
anyway this is why ppl go to bike stores and not the interweb for bikes
this one sounds WAY too tall for you

A frame that is made for a 6' person is far to big for you. Nothing will change this. Time to admit your mistake, and get rid of that bike and buy one that is the right size before you hurt yourself. You are a prime example of someone who tried to save money without doing their homework

See answer from David D. You're pretty much screwed. How much did you save on the wrong sized bicycle? Worth it?

If it is a road bike, you need 1 inch of standover (straddling the bike), minimum. A MTB is 2 inches but with modern compact design, this is usually not a problem.
Ask it they can replace, you pay the shipping. Sell the bike.

You should sell it and get the correct size. It cant be comfortable to ride once you do get on it.
