How do I tell my freinds my parents are getting divorced?

ONLY after they have filed and you're sure it is going to happen. DO NOT take any emotional ownership for this mess, it's their problem and you should not feel you have any responsibility towards their inability to remain married. I know it's going to be hard- -but just take on step back (emotionally) and just say “they're splitting up”.

I'm truly sorry for you-- emotions are running crazy right now- -but know that they love you and it's not about you.

Find the one friend you feel closest to and just tell him/her. You don't have to give details. Just tell them what is going on and that you need to tell someone.

Just say it how it is, it's not your fault so you have no need to feel embarrassed. Plenty of married couples get divorced. Take care of yourself. x

I remember telling my friends the same thing when I was about that age. My friends were really supportive. They said "It will be alright. We'll still see each other same as always."

Tell them as it is...come on...if they are true friends, they will understand the situation and help you go through it as the divorce will affect you to. Now is the time to use this opportunity to know them fakers if you have any
