Should I delete my Facebook?

Every time I get on Facebook I see all my "friends". I see statuses and pictures about all the fun things they're doing. I see people making jokes and having a good time. Everybody's connecting, except me. My friends are making plans without me. My crushes are flirting with other people. Rarely does anyone care what I have to say. Then I decide to take the risk and say hi to people and 99% of the time I get ignored. The other 1% of the time a conversation actually actually happens!... until they quit responding about 3 messages later. But if I delete Facebook, then I lose what social life I do have. And by social life I mean reading about other people's social life. And I have worse luck finding friends in real life than I do on Facebook. Do you think I should delete my Facebook and maybe have a chance at being slightly happier at the expense of having no social life whatsoever?

The advent of social networking provides many advantages. You can meet up with childhood friends, share messages. But do understand that most of the posts specially pictures, do not give the complete reflection of one's life. In short, a smiling photo of a person does not mean his life is all well. He would never post a picture of him being sad, would he. Some people also try to build up their social image by posting fake messages and photos. There are many instances of the same.

No need to delete your face book account. At the same time, also don't be too involved in it. Take time out to meet people in person. You will find it much better.

I was in a very similar place not so long ago, I was sick of feeling left out and seeing everyone make plans that didn't include me. I also made the mistake of adding some of my Australian friends who often posted photos of their gorgeous bikini bodies which made me feel so bad about myself. I recommend that you delete your Facebook, I know deleting mine made me considerably happier. Find a new way to contact your friends, like text them or something, happiness comes first after all :)
