Can you help me with getting back into golfing?
I golfed as a child and in my early teens. I stopped when I was around 15. I'm now 24 and would like to get back into golfing. I've been wanting to get back into it for years, but never have. I need help finding a decent golf set (affordable). I would consider myself a beginner, so nothing fancy. I also don't know what golf shoes are good (and affordable).

There are plenty of options. Component brands like Hireko Golf, Diamond Tour Golf, Value Golf and the GolfWorks sell affordable clubs. You get the bonus of not having to pay for big ad campaigns and Tour sponsorships, while enjoying the same quality.
You can also look at some clone brands, like Diamond Tour Golf (they do both clones and OEM stuff), GigaGolf and Pinemeadow Golf.
The other option is the used market, like Ebay and Craig's List. I've found some good deals on Ebay stores like Global Golf, 2nd Swing Golf, Rock Bottom Golf (they have a "real" online store as well as an Ebay store) and Golf Etail.

Check out the sets at Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy or Dick's Sporting Goods or a golf pro shop near you. They'll have a set to meet your budget, from beginner sets like Strata made by Callaway, Top Flite, Adams or other sets, priced from around $149 and up. Some stores carry used clubs so you may want to consider those too.
As for golf shoes I like Footjoy or Adidas, but you really should try on several pairs to see what fits your feet the best. I prefer the waterproof leather shoes, rather than some of the newer styles with cloth. When you play early in the morning there could be a lot of dew, or after a rain you need the waterproof feature to keep your feet dry and comfortable. Also your shoes should have plastic spikes or treads now, not metal.

You may try online by clicking the link below. There are lots of choices depending on what you are willing to spend. Similar to Golf shoes. If you don't prefer online shopping, one better way in my opinion is to visit your local Golf Store and look for the items you need. You need to tell them exactly what you want since normally, they will sell to you the high end Golf Clubs and related items. If possible, it is better for you to test your Golf Clubs before buying them. This way, you have a feel of the club and they suit your needs.
Good Luck and Happy Golfing!

i bought a pair of waterproof footjoy shoes used from ebay they are awesome!! for 25 bucks these new are 200. callaway irons are good forgiving irons. i recommend x22s or something in that range. u can buy these off ebay for little of nothing. invest in a good driver though i recommend taylor made or callaway. you can be back in business for less that 500 with quality used clubs. i was a 4 handicap got married at 33 and just started back at 43. i can still break 80 but getting back to under par rounds is gonna be tough. but i will do it. oh btw just got divorced so i chose the course over her it only took me ten years. lol
