Modeling tips tricks and advice?

I there! I want to become a model for magazines but not runway just because I can't do heels there impossible for me lol I prefer boots, vans, or creepers. But my mother's friend that I lived with for a year is a part time professional photographer I mean her set up is amazing! I am going to ask how much she will charge to create a portfolio of me but after I get that done what do I do next? I have been loosing weight and working on getting rid of some back acne (which is weird because I dont get it on my face only back) but after I do all that and get my portfolio what do I do next? I am a half and hour away from NYC which is very convenient but do I just look into agencies and send my portfolio too?

I have never done this so I am a bit confused and I am semi-model skinny but I am very short which stinks but I am only 13 so I do suppose I have a lot of growing left. I am only 5'1 my dad is 5'8 and mom is 5'4 but my brother is 5'9 and my mothers father was like 6'3 so hopefully I will grow but thats the only down fall is my height. But I have heard people who were really short grow up really tall so maybe that might be my case?

I am going into high school this September so maybe by that time I will grow a bit taller so I wont be a rug rat of a 9th grader.

Any tips for poses? Advice on my height and what might increase my chances of growing?
