Can anyone tell me what the designation of "librarian" is in the army, in the field?

This person was stationed on active duty, but there is this designation on her paperwork.

She was a sharp-shooter too.

Sharp shooter sounds cool, but it just means she shot decent on the qualification range. And a librarian is a librarian; a paper pusher. She probably never saw combat.

We do not have uniformed librarians in the US Army now.

She was definitely not a paper pusher. I know her well, enough to say that she was not a librarian either, did not have the degree.

Librarian is exactly what it sounds like. That would have been her MOS. Sharpshooter is the middle grade of rifle qualification.

Sounds like she was a 71-Lima, an orderly room specialist.
